Since that moment BEE has played a very important role
in the South African business landscape. BEE is equated
with the development of a black capitalist class by the
entry and transaction activities of black people in business.
Each company or business in South Africa is obligated to
contract a set percentage of previously disadvantaged employees
to stimulate the participation in their business landscape.
Besides the BEE-programme, many social programmes, international
and local NGO’s are working on the improvement of
a better social and economic position for the previously
disadvantaged.
In this channel we’ll report on the developments and
improvements to communities and entrepreneurship programmes
in the black townships of Cape Town.
Social projects range from food
programmes , street kids’ projects and free surfing
lessons for talented youngsters from black townships.
Several NGO’s get the opportunity to expose their
dedication in the work they do to create social and economic
equality.
There is still a lot to be done, what is amazing though
is the effort that many people are investing in seeing everyone
in South Africa enjoying the fruits of freedom.
