Full day “Meet the People” Township Tour – (Exclusive C2C tour)

The best way to experience any culturally rich destination like Cape Town is to Meet the People.

Come2capetown offer a unique and rewarding full day tour doing just that.
C2C provide opportunities for South Africans to benefit from your visit through business creation and tourism awareness. Your reward is a unique experience meeting and experiencing South Africans at home.

The tour follows the political history through museums and suburban drives. It is however the interaction with local hosts in their homes, as we stop for traditional snacks, meals and chats, that provide true insight into South Africa.

In the Bo-Kaap Malay Quarter tea and traditional snacks are offered with local residents who explain the slave heritage of this unique and colorful suburb of South Africa.

Continue into the heartland of the townships via Langa, the oldest township and a drive through the historic mile.
Visit the Sivuyile college where a disenfranchised community are addressing the pressing needs of skills based education. View their talents as they manifest themselves into artistic crafts, which are sold to guests.
A pre-lunch drink at a local shebeen provides an insight into township pub life and first hand insight into this unique South African way of life.
Lunch is served in the home of a community of ladies where traditional Xhosa food is skillfully prepared and served with pride.
Following lunch a visit to Cape Towns largest urban township – Khayelitsha - and a visual vista from Look out Hill.

An add-on to this tour is an evening meal in a traditionally white suburb with a white family as host. Here a traditional “braai”, as a barbeque is known locally, offers an insight into South Africa’s favorite dining experience.
This third meal of the day provides an all round picture of the three main cultural groups in Cape Town in their home environment.
