It is very possible, that you will
come back from a lovely vacation in South Africa and you
will be able to speak ‘a new language’.
Friends will ask you: How was your vacation? ‘Baie
lekker’ you answer them and they won’t understand
you. Very nice you were saying in Afrikaans, but automatically,
after a few weeks in South Africa you will adapt the funny
and most used words from the South African slang: a complete
mix between Afrikaans and English.
Especially funny when for example an Indian South African
speaks it with that touch from Asia. The first few days
in South Africa, you won’t believe that it is English
the people are speaking, because you can’t understand
a word they are saying. You will get used quickly and before
you know you’ll talk like them yourself!
Plausibly the most beautiful people live in South Africa.
The mix between different races is stunning! Xhosa people,
Zulu people, Afrikaners, colored people are perfect ingredients
for many beautiful babies! Besides that it is lovely to
be among all different kind of cultures with their own habits,
parties and food. For that reason South Africa is often
called Rainbow Country with an awesome rich and interesting
culture.
South Africa has a population of 44 million people and
has 11 official languages: Afrikaans (18%), Zulu (23%),
Xhosa (17%), Pedi (8%), English (8%), Tswana (8%), Sotho
(7%), Tsonga (4%), Swati (3%), Venda (3%) and Ndebele (2%).
Zulu is most spoken in the Northern and Eastern part of
South Africa.
